RIEGL is an international leading provider of cutting-edge technology in airborne, mobile, terrestrial, industrial, bathymetric and UAV-based laser scanning solutions for applications in surveying. Our goal is to design, develop and produce the best possible laser sensors for the desired application in order to perfectly fulfill the measurement task at hand and thus meet the expectations of customers worldwide.
RIEGL has been producing LiDAR systems commercially for over 40 years and focuses on pulsed time-of-flight laser radar technology in multiple wavelengths.
RIEGL terrestrial laser scanners provide detailed and highly accurate 3D data rapidly and efficiently. Applications of RIEGL terrestrial laser scanners are wide ranging, including topography, mining, as-built surveying, architecture, archeology, monitoring, civil engineering, AEC, BIM, and city modeling.
Airborne laser scanning is a rapid, highly accurate and efficient method of capturing 3D data of large areas, such as agricultural or forestry sites, urban areas, industrial plants, etc. RIEGL airborne laser scanners make use of the latest state-of-the-art laser and signal processing technology. They are exceptionally compact, lightweight and cost effective, and are designed to meet the most challenging requirements in airborne surveying. Fully integrated airborne mapping systems with corresponding cameras and high-end IMU/GNSS systems provide users with ready-to-use solutions for demanding survey tasks.
UAV-based laser scanning utilizing high-end unmanned airborne platforms, provides the possibility to acquire data from dangerous and/or hard-to-reach areas, whilst offering a high cost to benefit ratio for numerous applications, e.g., agricultural and forestry, defense, wide area mapping, flood zone mapping, topography and mining. With a new line of ultimate survey-grade airborne scanners especially developed for UAV/UAS/RPAS-based applications RIEGL revolutionizes the commercial and civil market providing first-class technique for this new dynamic topic.
RIEGL’s portfolio of airborne and UAV-based laser scanners also includes sensors and systems for combined topographic and bathymetric laser scanning. They are well suited for coastline and shallow water mapping, the acquisition of bases data for flood prevention, the measurement of aggradation zones, surveying of hydraulic engineering, hydro-archeological surveying, mapping of rivers and lakes, and the repeated survey of water reservoirs.
Mobile laser scanning describes terrestrial data acquisition from moving platforms (e.g. boats, trains, road and off-road vehicles) also known as kinematic laser scanning. Both RIEGL 2D and 3D laser scanners are ideally suited for mobile mapping applications. With a broad range of user-friendly mobile mapping systems, RIEGL offers proven solutions for applications like transportation infrastructure mapping, road surface measurements, city modeling, surveying in open pit mining, GIS mapping and asset management, but also for rail track mapping and clearance surveying.
RIEGL's industrial laser scanner product line is ideally suited to meet demanding industrial customer expectations. The rugged overall system design makes this product line exceptionally well suited for installations in harsh industrial environments. The compactness of the housing allows an installation even under narrow space conditions.
RIEGL's software packages are the ideal companion software for RIEGL laser scanners. Separate programs designed for the different applications of terrestrial and airborne/mobile laser scanning enable to use the scanners’ capabilities in the best possible way, from optimizing the acquisition workflow in the field, via providing tools for data control, right to providing a variety of functions for data processing. Furthermore, smooth data transfer to numerous third party post-processing packages is a matter of fact.
